Short Biography
Preston graduated from Johns Hopkins University with 2017 with a BS and MS in Neuroscience. As an undergraduate and masters student, he studied the molecular pathways of neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s disease and carried out preclinical studies of novel therapeutic targets in mouse models of disease in the lab of Ted and Valina Dawson. Preston joined the Harvard-MIT MD/PhD program in Fall 2017 and subsequently joined the Heiman lab in Fall 2019. He is currently studying mechanisms of axonal degeneration in neurodegenerative diseases.
